Suspect Arrested for Murder of Houston Woman

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX -- The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force arrested Anthony Sorel Haywood, 42, for the murder of a Houston woman.

On Monday, February 19th, 2024, at approximately 3 am the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a deceased female at a residence at the 9300 block of Spindlewood Drive in Houston, Fort Bend County Texas. When Deputies arrived, they found inside the residence the victim Coralyn Hunt, 38 deceased. Three of her children were found without injury. Hunt was found to have been shot to death inside her residence.

After further investigation, detectives identified Anthony Sorel Haywood, who had been in a dating relationship with Hunt, as a suspect. On March 1st, 2024, at approximately 1 pm Haywood was located in the 6700 block of Long Point Rd, Houston, Texas and taken into custody by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.

Haywood is being held on a Murder warrant out of Fort Bend County 434th District Court with a set bond of $1,000,000.

"It's a tragedy when someone's life is taken away, especially when at the hands of another human being," said Sheriff Eric Fagan. "I'd like to thank the investigators for tirelessly working on this case to identify a suspect. I'd also like to thank the task force for their assistance in his arrest.
