THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Get in the spirit of Carnival and Mardi Gras at The Woodlands Children’s Museum – with beads, masks, parades, art projects, music and, of course, king cake.

Mardi Gras celebration slated for Tuesday, Feb. 9

The Mardi Gras Celebration is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9. The museum is located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280. The event is included in the price of admission, which is $5 per person 1 year and older.

Juggler Claude Sims will provide entertainment. Children will enjoy music while making their own Mardi Gras masks and beads before joining the parade. Montgomery Bakehouse will provide delicious king cake for children to sample.

There are three parade times scheduled: 10:45 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

“The event was designed to bring cultural awareness to the history of Mardi Gras celebrations around the world,” Angela Colton, the museum’s executive director, said. “We hope the community will join us for a traditional Louisiana-style Fat Tuesday celebration.”
