Margie Taylor to be honored as MCABW's 'Woman of Distinction'
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The Montgomery County Association of Business Women is proud to announce that Margie Taylor has been selected to represent the MCABW at the Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations’ 2014 "Women of Distinction" Luncheon. The annual luncheon recognizes the achievements of women who have contributed selflessly to their organization and others, throughout the year. This year's annual luncheon will be held May 24, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.
An active member of the community, Margie has recently been named to the MCABW Board of Directors for her active participation in the non-profit organization, spearheading special events, fundraisers, and as one of its most ardent advocates.
“We’re pleased to honor Margie at the Women of Distinction Luncheon,” said Carol Gooch, the founder and Executive Director of the MCABW. “Her energy and enthusiasm is unsurpassed.”
When not actively promoting the MCABW, Margie works as the Marketing and Development Director for Montgomery County Emergency Assistance, overseeing the community outreach programs, coordinating the MCEA’s major fundraising event, the annual July 4th Duck Race, and also their two resale outlets, as well as other fundraisers, special events, the volunteer management for these projects, and grant writing.
Margie’s exemplary communication efforts have helped both the MCEA and the MCABW flourish, issuing press releases, maximizing the social media, leveraging both soft and hardcopy publications, networking, and all other activities deemed public relations, all for the good of the women in the MCABW, and also the residents of Montgomery County.
“The inside joke in the MCABW is that if you want the community to know something, tell Margie Taylor,” said Gooch.
Margie’s involvement with other non-profit organizations in Montgomery County spans over a decade. She has leveraged her contacts and skills, not only for the betterment of the MCABW, but many of these organizations who are also MCABW members. Her extensive community involvement has made Taylor one of the most recognizable personalities in Montgomery County.
“It’s an honor to recognize someone of her caliber,” added Gooch.”
Margie Taylor lives in Splendora, and is married to Jeff Taylor, the fire chief of the New Caney/Splendora Fire Department. In addition to raising three adult sons, she and her husband raise a menagerie on their country estate.
The Women of Distinction luncheon will be preceded by a silent auction at 10:30 a.m., followed by the luncheon at noon. The highlight of the event will be presenting the awards to the distinquished women of the community who will be representing over two dozen county organizations.
