Vintage automobile motorcade to kickoff Houston Classic Weekend
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -A 100-car motorcade of classic cars will be escorted by the Conroe Police Department, throughout the north Montgomery County area, to kickoff the Houston Classic Weekend, which will not only feature the most beautiful assortment of classic automobiles, but also consist of a golf tournament, reception, and auto auction.
The auto parade will start at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery, motor over to the new Black Walnut Cafe at Lone Star Airport, then into downtown Conroe, and back to La Torretta.
The agenda is as follows:
10:00 a.m. Motorcade departs La Torreta for Lone Star Airport. Approx. ETA 11:00 a.m.
1:00 a.m. Auto parade departs for the downtown square in Conroe
The motorcade will then return to La Torretta for the other planned festivities. Conroe and north Montgomery County residents will have ample opportunities to see these magnificent automobiles on parade.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Organizers of the Houston Classic Weekend are gearing up for one of the biggest motoring weekends in the state, staged at the award winning La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery with Montgomery County Emergency Assistance named as the local beneficiary charity.
Running from May 2-4, The Houston Classic Weekend is a celebration of vintage motoring, with something for the whole family. The weekend includes a Friday morning driving tour through the Piney Woods of Texas, followed by an afternoon of golf at the hotel, and a reception showcasing many of the Concours vehicles, as well as auction vehicles staged around the hotel marina. Saturday's events include Worldwide Auctioneers' 13th annual catalog auction sale, The Houston Classic Auction, with more than 100 of the world's finest and rarest motorcars lining up to go under the auction hammer.
Saturday's events conclude with the "Cowboys and Cars Charity Strolling Dinner and Dance," benefitting the Concours charities. Come join one of the state's largest celebrations of vintage motoring and see some of the world's fastest cars at the third annual Concours d'Elegance of Texas, presented by Gullo Family Dealerships.The Concours d'Elegance of Texas will be Sunday, May 4th, a spectacular gathering of vintage motorcars, racecars and antique motorcycles, assembled from collections across the country to be judged for appearance and originality. The event is held on the golf course and includes a car club display area as well as food, drink and exhibitors' booths. Festivities include a flyover by the Lone Star Freedom Flight Formation and the judging awards presentation. Volunteers are needed Sunday, May 4th to participate as car ambassadors, marshalls, and for set up/tear down. Volunteers get FREE admission!

Proceeds from both the ticket sales and the catalog benefit MCEA. Since 1981, Montgomery County Emergency Assistance (MCEA) has provided clients with temporary financial assistance during a crisis. MCEA has programs that offer food, clothing, rent/utility assistance and help with prescriptions for Montgomery County residents. The service center, located at 1022 McCall Avenue in Conroe, serves clients Monday through Friday. MCEA is a unique nonprofit because they are the only agency that serves the entire county with resources to help residents with food, clothing, rent or utility assistance. Satellite offices are visited monthly in New Caney, Magnolia, Montgomery, and Willis. Our message to our clients is clear…You Can do It. MCEA is here to help.
