New principals approved for Rice and Anderson Elementary schools
CONROE, Texas -- Board members approved the assignments of principals of Rice Elementary and Anderson Elementary at the February Board of Trustees meeting.
“I am excited to continue the legacy of excellence by building relationships with students, staff, and the community. Thank you for this opportunity to serve the students of Conroe ISD,” stated Malinda Stewart.
Malinda Stewart was named principal of B.B. Rice Elementary after the Board approved Dr. Stockton’s recommendation. She is following Carrie Fitzpatrick, who is now the principal at Stewart Elementary, which will open fall 2014.
Mrs. Stewart has twelve years of experience in education, serving ten years in Conroe ISD. While in Conroe ISD, she has served as assistant principal of B.B. Rice Elementary, assistant principal of Deretchin Elementary, District instructional literacy coach, and Language Arts teacher.
She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University.
“I have been associated with the Conroe Independent School District for most of my life, as a student, a parent and an educator, and I am a proud graduate of CISD. I look forward to working with a truly outstanding group of faculty and students and I am thrilled to become a part of the Anderson Elementary community,” said Viviana Harris.
Viviana Harris is the new principal of Anderson Elementary. She is taking the reins from Gilberto Lozano, who will serve as principal of Patterson Elementary, which will also open fall 2014.
Mrs. Harris received her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and her master’s degree from Lamar University.
She has worked all twelve years of her education experience in Conroe ISD. Currently, she is an assistant principal at Ford Elementary. Prior to serving as an administrator, Mrs. Harris worked nine years as an elementary teacher.
