MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- County and City law enforcement will be working cooperatively this Halloween conducting sex offender compliance checks and focusing on our “high risk” offenders.

Law enforcement officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Precinct 1 Constables Office, Investigators with the District Attorney’s Office, and Municipal Officers from Conroe and Willis will be conducting sex offender compliance checks during Halloween, Thursday October 31, 2013.

Law enforcement officers will be out in force in an effort to verify current residences and verify compliance of registered sex offenders.

Montgomery County has approximately 700 registered sex offenders and area law enforcement combines forces in an effort to blanket the county checking and confirming the whereabouts of these offenders throughout the year.

The Montgomery County Adult Probation Department has required all sex offenders, who are currently under court supervision in our County, to attend a mandatory programming session on Halloween evening from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Sheriff Tommy Gage and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit are proud to spearhead this effort and appreciate the cooperative efforts of the county’s Law Enforcement, District Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Probation, and Judicial Offices.
