It’s never too early to start preparing for the holidays – especially when shopping can help support a worthy cause.

The Woodlands Children's Museum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting culture, health and creative play will be setting up shop at the 11th Annual Fall Home and Garden Show at The Woodlands.

The event, featuring bright ideas to beautify the home, is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive.

The museum will invite visitors to celebrate “Christmas in August.” Each year, the organization hosts a fundraiser selling 24-inch holiday wreaths -- made from fresh Fraser Fir shipped direct from a North Carolina farm.

Attendees at the Home and Garden Show can reserve a wreath in advance for an early bird discounted price of $10 off the regular $79. There will also be a chance to win a wreath in the museum’s raffle.

For younger booth visitors, The Woodlands Children’s Museum will offer a fun activity -- a jingle bell bracelet kit to take home and create.

“Christmas in August is a great way to prepare for the holidays – way in advance,” the museum’s executive director Angela Colton said. “At the same time, sales from this fundraiser will help us to continue to bring quality educational exhibits, programs and events to the community.”

The Woodlands Children’s Museum, located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Dr. Suite 280, offers a full calendar of exciting activities and a number of outreach programs for the community.
