CONROE – Conroe High School Head Football Coach Roger Holtkamp has moved into administration at the school, ending 10 seasons at the helm of the Tigers football program.

Holtkamp, a Conroe High School graduate, guided the Tigers to four playoff appearances in the last six seasons.

He released this statement: “It has been an honor to serve as the head coach and athletic director at Conroe High School. I feel like we made a difference over the last 10 years. I look forward to this new opportunity and feel it is a great fit for our school, myself, and my family.”

Conroe ISD Athletics Director Danny Long has begun a search for the next Conroe High School football coach.

Holtkamp became the Tigers head coach in 2003 after guiding the Oak Ridge War Eagles to the Class 4A state semifinals. His most productive run at Conroe was 2004-08, posting a 30-22 record without a losing season. He took the Tigers to the playoffs in three consecutive years (2007-09).

Conroe was 6-25 over the last three seasons. The Tigers haven’t won a playoff game since 1999.
