CONROE, Texas -- Protect Controls, Inc. brought hundreds of jobs to the area when they recently moved into a new Conroe location from Houston in April of 2012.

Chairman Don Davis founded PCI in 1973 in Houston. The company manufactures Power Control Buildings according to the specifications of their clients.

“We do everything to make our clients happy,” President Walter Davis said. “Size is no limitation on the product; it’s modular. It can be anything you want it to be.”

A typical project takes about 22 weeks to complete. PCI partners with Nashville-based power management company Eaton to deliver the finished product - painted, insulated buildings that are ready to “plug and play.”

“It’s very much a partnering effort,” Senior Account Manager David Martinez said. “It’s a very important part of the process, partnering with the suppliers. Sometimes we’re the customer, sometimes we have customers. It’s a two-way street.”

Wednesday, July 25, PCI hosted a ribbon cutting and open house to showcase the new Conroe location. PCI’s new location features landscaping, an employee park and a water feature with koi, which was built by contractor LSI in “record time,” Don Davis said. The new location has been fully moved into, though a few changes are still being made to the production area including the addition of a 20-ton crane.

During the construction, PCI supported Conroe businesses by attempting to use them for everything they needed done.

“This has really grown from what we were,” Sheena Chachere, inside sales employee, said. “We plan to continue to grow and I can see it happening. We’re moving right along.”
