THE WOODLANDS, TX -- If you want to get your child or grandchild a special book this Christmas, local author Sharon Thayer will be on the first level of The Woodlands Mall today and Saturday, December 21st. She is selling her award winning book, ‘The Story of Santa’s Beard,’ which tells the story of the ‘Big Guys’ facial hair starting in January, and grows throughout the year as long as the kiddos are good. Thayer is able to autograph the book on the spot dedicated to your special child. The book is even available in Spanish.

Sharon has an interesting story, starting her Carousel Publishing business on September 11, 2001. Yes, that day. But the entrepreneur fought back, and with her daughter Jessica, they had a spark of inspiration to bring some Christmas magic to kids in some rather dark times.

“It’s a three-time national award winner,” said Thayer. “The book is about ethics and values, all intertwined with a story about Santa Claus.”

Loved for its traditional Christmas message, the Story of Santa's Beard leads children into the magical world of Santa. It also transports adults back to a time when the magic was theirs. And the pitch is enticing: “There is a problem growing – literally growing – at the North Pole because children around the world are being good. Santa’s beard grows a little each time children share, play fair, do their best, tell the truth … Soon, because so many children are good every day, Santa’s beard gets so long he can hardly walk, or talk, and he can’t make the toys! But those clever little elves come up with a plan. In the end, all Santa has to do is choose the best kids from his “Good List” to receive a snippet of his long beard. Children squeal with delight when they discover their very own snippet of Santa's beard, tied with red ribbon and included in the book. This book and the special gift will be treasured every Santa believing year and beyond.”
