Veteran of the Week - Zack Griffin

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- This week’s Veteran is Zach Griffin, who served in the U.S. Army from 2000-2006. He served as an Helicopter repairman of all the available choppers during his time in the military. Zach was stationed at Fort Hood, and was deployed along the Texas-New Mexico-Arizona border for counter drug operations with DEA and Customs and Border Patrol in early 2001. Griffin was sent to Iraq in 2004-2005, where he was based out of Taji, north of Baghdad. Zach also worked in Nuclear Biological and Chemical training, Combat lifesaver training, DART and was team leader of the down aircraft recovery team, or DART. After his service, Griffin worked with Continental and Express Jet as an mechanic and maintenance inspector. Zach is the program coordinator for the Outdoor Disabled Veteran Program, with Knowledge Point Network, and other veteran assistance programs.
