Step 1 – Register as a Conroe Tday Member, unless you have already registered. This registration creates a password-protected area no one else can access unless you share your UserName and Password.
Step 2 – Once you create a Membership, Conroe Today staff, during business hours, Monday through Friday, will assign Self-Publishing rights to your account and associate it with your Business Directory Listing. (Be sure to send an e-mail to the Conroe Today staff and let them know that you have set up your membership and need access to self-publishing.)
To get to your Business Directory Listing, go to the home page on Conroe Today and use the Search box (middle center of the page) to search in the business directory for your organization. If one does not exist for your organization, go ahead and Add a Business Directory Listing.
Step 3 – Open two Internet Explorer (or browser) windows. One Internet Explorer screen will be used to log-in to Conroe Today. The second Internet Explorer window will allow you to view your content “live” on the Conroe Today website. This way you can immediately check your listings as you update content.
Step 4 – Log in (top right of every page of Conroe Today).
Step 5 – Click on the Self-Publishing Text Link on the upper left hand section of the page (under the words, “My CT….”).
Help: If you ever have a question or problem while in your self-publishing account, click on the “Name of the Page or Area You Are Editing” text help link at the bottom of the page (beside the “Ask a Question” text link).
Step 6 – Click on your organization’s name link inside the right hand column labeled, “Company / Organization.” This brings up a content administration page with areas that allow you to add or edit content, such as your Business Directory Listing.
Step 7 – To edit your Business Directory Listing, click on the Business Directory link and edit the information in the form boxes. Be sure to click the “Update Listing” button at the bottom the form after you’ve made your corrections. You will see a confirmation page that shows your updated content.

Go to the other Internet Explorer window and view your Business Directory Listing that is “live” on Conroe Today. To get to your Business Directory Listing, go to the home page on Conroe Today and use the Search box (middle center of the page) to search in the business directory for your organization.
Step 8 – If you are on the self-publishing confirmation page, look in the Content Administration box and select Events Calendar to enter an upcoming event. Once on the Events Calendar menu page, select Add a Listing and fill out the form. Be sure to click Type, Audience and the “Live” button and then click the “Add Listing” or “Update Listing” button at the bottom of the form after you’ve made your corrections or added information.

Go to the other Internet window and view your Business Directory Listing again. Hit the refresh button for browser and look on the right hand column for your Event listed under the Events area. You can also view your event listing on the Events Home Page on Conroe Today. To view an event via the Events Calendar, click on the date of your event (on the calendar in the upper right hand corner) or Search by Subject (middle center of the page) to search for your organization’s event. The subject is the name you titled the event. Your event listing will automatically appear on the date on the Conroe Today overall Events Calendar. Two weeks before your event, contact us and we will do our best to “feature” your event on the Events Calendar Home Page.
Step 9 – To enter a news brief or an announcement about your organization, select “Community Info” text link at the bottom of the page or from your self-publishing page. Click to add a listing and fill out the form. Select a category for your news item and be sure to review the expiration date before you hit the “Add Listing” button.

Go to the other Internet window and view your business directory listing again. Hit the refresh button for browser and look on the right hand column for your News or Announcement listed under the Community Info area.
Step 10 – Contact the Conroe Today staff and have them set up a sample column/newsletter for your use. Select Columns / Newsletters to create a newsletter for your organization.
Tips for Using Self-Publishing:
Update Your Account Often. The more you update content (including your Directory Listing, Events, News, Announcements), the greater the potential for donors or members to meet your organization’s needs.
Resize Your Graphics. Make sure to use a small graphic in your self-publishing account. Your page will load faster with smaller graphics. If you need help resizing your graphic, use an online tutorial.
Get Special Coverage for your Organization.Contact the editorial staff to have a special feature written about your events or programs.
